Macramé is the art of crafting textiles with knots made by hand without the use of tools. It is an age old practice used to produce a variety of objects. From large scale objects such as curtains, wall hangings and hammocks to smaller objects such as belts, bags and jewellery.
It is an art that teaches us patience and, once the basics have been mastered, it is an art form that enables us to explore and unfold our creativity. The practice of macramé can prove to be a brilliant aid in entering a meditative state and the focus required combined with the use of our hands renders it a beautiful way of work therapy.
In this workshop you will be introduced to the basic knots of macramé and will have the chance to craft a piece yourself. Materials will be provided.
